Sauerkraut with Juniper Berries

A traditional fermented cabbage with a twist, Biona’s organic sauerkraut is made using just cabbage, sea salt and juniper berries, nothing else. The fermentation process gives it that classic tang and crunch, while the juniper berries add a subtle, aromatic note that lifts the flavour and gives it a slightly peppery, almost pine-like edge.

 

Naturally high in fibre and a source of vitamin C, it’s a simple way to support digestion and overall gut health. There have even been theories to Sauerkraut helping IBS in some people. The addition of juniper doesn’t just bring flavour, it also adds trace antioxidants and plant compounds traditionally associated with digestion and circulation.

 

Pasteurised for convenience, so it doesn’t need to be refrigerated until opened. Delicious as a side, in wraps or with roasted veg and grains.

All our products are posted via Next Day courier from Monday through to Thursday. Any orders placed before 12:00 will normally be posted that same day.

 

We offer a frozen product delivery for our meats, with insulative woolcool and ice packs, our parcels are sent via Next Day courier. The parcels are all tracked so you are able to be present for the delivery, we dispatch from Mondays to Thursdays to avoid weekend delays. Any perishables products are kept safe in our packaging during a delay of up to 1 day, meaning they are safe for 2 days in the postal system.
