Rosehip is the fruit of the rose plant, forming after the petals fall away in late summer. This cordial is made with 42% rosehip infusion, capturing one of the most concentrated natural sources of vitamin C in the plant world. Traditionally, rosehips were gathered during wartime in Britain to make syrups when citrus fruits were scarce. Their natural pectin content also makes them popular in jams and preserves. This cordial uses rosehip alongside hibiscus and blackcurrant extracts to stabilise colour and provide additional plant compounds such as anthocyanins, which are studied for their antioxidant roles. Designed to be diluted 1:10, it offers a simple way of using a foraged fruit that has a long history in European herbal traditions.
