Made with the extract of wild elderflower petals rather than stalks, this cordial captures more of the delicate aromatic compounds naturally present in the flowers. Elderflowers have a long history in European folk traditions and are still studied today for their bioactive compounds, including flavonoids. This cordial is designed as a concentrate and is best diluted 1:10 with still or sparkling water, which allows the active botanical extract to disperse evenly. Like other plant-based cordials, it uses a balance of sugar and citric acid not only for taste but also to stabilise the infusion and extend shelf life.
