Medium bran is made from the outer layer of the wheat kernel, where much of the fibre, vitamins and minerals are stored. It is particularly rich in insoluble fibre which contributes to digestive regularity and supports gut health. Bran is also a natural source of iron, magnesium and B vitamins, making it a useful ingredient for adding nutritional depth to recipes. Fun fact, wheat bran makes up about 14 % of the wheat grain’s total weight yet holds a significant proportion of its nutrient content. It can be mixed into baking, sprinkled into cereals or used in homemade breads to boost fibre intake.
