This version of rye crispbread includes sesame seeds, which add plant-based protein and naturally occurring lignans that have been studied for their role in antioxidant activity. With 86.5% wholegrain rye flour and 8.7% sesame seeds, it combines two crops that have been part of human diets for thousands of years. Sesame is one of the oldest oilseed crops known, cultivated for at least 3000 years, and complements rye by contributing additional healthy fats.
